Beyond Tradition and Innovation: A "KIZASHI" of New Music Co-Created by Kawai and HERALBONY

In 2027, Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Looking ahead to the next century, our goal is not simply to pursue magnificent sound. It is to build a society where everyone can express themselves authentically through music. "KIZASHI" is the embodiment of this vision—a special model created through a collaboration between Shigeru Kawai, Kawai’s premier grand piano, and HERALBONY Co., Ltd.

What We believe

In 2027, Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Looking ahead to the next century, our goal is not simply to pursue magnificent sound.

It is to build a society where everyone can express themselves authentically through music.

"KIZASHI" is the embodiment of this vision—a special model created through a collaboration between Shigeru Kawai, Kawai’s premier grand piano, and HERALBONY Co., Ltd.

We define Shigeru Kawai not merely as an instrument, but as a "vessel for sensibility."

A fusion of tradition and innovation. Crafted one by one by master artisans, its refined tones have resonated richly in concert halls around the world. The pianists who play Shigeru Kawai also approach the concert stage with their lives on the line, through fierce and painstaking effort. Yet, that intensity and beauty can sometimes make the piano feel distant, creating a barrier between it and ordinary people.

Right now, in this very moment, when you touch the piano, there are no "correct answers," no "mistakes," and no "barriers." We want to let the nuances of emotion spilling from your fingertips resonate just as they are.

This "Kizashi" (sign/omen) carrying a warm landscape is what Kawai wants to discover together with you as we head toward the next 100 years. Melting walls of the heart, becoming a "vessel for sensibility" that embraces everyone.

We hope this piano will serve as a big step forward in quietly dissolving the walls in our hearts.

The Journey of KIZASHI

・Jamie’s Concert

Beginning from an encounter with an autistic boy, this concert colored a warm space where everyone could enjoy live music with complete peace of mind.

・NAMM SHOW

One of the world's largest music trade shows.

It also appeared at the NAMM Show in the United States, which brings together music industry professionals and diverse people from all over the world.

Drawn by the fusion of vivid art and rich tones, visitors who stopped by instinctively reached out to touch the keys and listened closely to the resonance. It was a moment where the philosophy of an "inclusive piano" resonated intuitively across languages and borders.

・Exhibition in Paris, France

Exhibited at "L'Art coûte que coûte," an exhibition organized by the disability advocacy organization "APF France handicap." On this international stage celebrating the expressions of artists with disabilities, it created a fantastical artistic experience where visual and auditory senses resonated together.
