Bluetooth MIDI and Bluetooth Audio are separate technologies that allow Kawai instruments to communicate with smart devices wirelessly.  Most Kawai digital instruments incorporate Bluetooth MIDI functionality, while a growing number also feature Bluetooth Audio.  This FAQ article explains the two technologies and their intended uses.

Bluetooth MIDI
Bluetooth MIDI allows Kawai instruments to send and receive MIDI data wirelessly.  This data can take the form of performance information such as pressing and releasing the keys and pedals, allowing a musician to perform a song on their Kawai instrument and have the data transmitted to another device, or for recorded MIDI music to be transmitted from the connected device and played using the Kawai instrument's sound generator.

Bluetooth MIDI also allows Kawai instruments to communicate with a wide variety of music-related apps from Kawai and other third-party developers, providing an exciting way to enjoy the piano without the need for additional adapters or cables.

Bluetooth Audio
Bluetooth Audio allows Kawai instruments to receive audio data wirelessly and output the sound through the piano's speaker system.  This data typically takes the form of an audio file stored on or streamed from the connected device, however the audio can also be from a video or even produced by a separate app.

Please note that the Bluetooth Audio function does not allow the sound produced by the Kawai instrument to be transmitted to other devices, such as wireless speakers or headphones.  For more infomation on this topic, please refer to the separate FAQ article linked below:
