How can I achieve the best sound quality from the Line Out connectors on my ES120 portable piano?

A

The ES120 portable piano includes various settings that can be used to adjust the tonal character and performance of the instrument's sound. The "Speaker EQ" and "Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS)" settings help to enhance the sound of the instrument when using the built-in speakers, or listening through headphones, and are therefore turned On by default.

However, the "Speaker EQ" and "Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS)" settings also influence the tonal character of the sound produced by the instrument's Line Out connectors.  Therefore, when connecting the ES120 to external speakers, or recording the instrument using the Line Out connectors, it is recommended to set the "Speaker EQ" and "Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS)" settings to Off, in order to achieve the best sound quality.

Turning off the "Speaker EQ" setting
Press and hold the [FUNCTION] button, then press the F#6 key.

ES120 disable Speaker EQ setting

Turning off the "Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS)" setting
Press and hold the [FUNCTION] button, then press the C#5 key.

ES120 disable SHS setting

To restore the above settings to their default values, turn the instrument off and on again.
To store the above settings to memory so that they are recalled every time the instrument is turned on, use the "Startup Settings" function.

For more information about the "Speaker EQ", "Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS)", and other functions and settings, please refer to the ES120 Owner's Manual PDF, available via the link below:
