Scheduled for release in late 2024, this brand new model features Kawai’s trademark keyboard action and sound technologies, closely replicating the touch and tone of an acoustic grand piano in an ultra-portable package.
The newly developed Responsive Hammer Lite (RHL) keyboard action offers fully graded keys to help develop hand strength and technique. It also incorporates the authentic hammer-sensing and key cushioning technologies from the latest CN201 and CN301 models, ensuring superb playability, control, and low mechanical noise to avoid disturbing others.
The ES60 features the rich, expressive sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano, reproduced using Harmonic Imaging sound technology. This ensures smooth transitions in tonal character from pianissimo to fortissimo, allowing aspiring pianists to learn and master expressive dynamic control. In addition to the core acoustic piano sounds, the ES60 also showcases a selection of electric pianos, organs, strings and other instruments, inspiring players to perform or accompany a variety of musical genres, at home or on stage.
Its 20 W stereo speaker system, equipped with the same drivers as the acclaimed ES120, delivers impressive volume with both richness and clarity, directing sound upward and towards the player for an enhanced listening experience.
Weighing just 11 kg, the ultra-portable ES60 is easy to carry around the house, or from classroom to recital hall. The instrument features standard 1/4" stereo Line Out connectors for recording or additional amplification, and a full-size headphone connector conveniently located on the front of the instrument. A USB-MIDI port allows connection to computers and smart devices, supporting a range of notated score and learning apps including Kawai’s PiaBookPlayer.
The ES60 is operated via two panel buttons, with handy function guides printed behind the keyboard, and can also be controlled using the PianoRemote app for iOS and Android devices.
To complement the ES60, Kawai offers the optional HML-3 designer stand and F-10H damper pedal. The HML-3 stand transforms the ES60 into a stylish, compact piano setup, providing a sturdy wood platform for a modern and attractive alternative to traditional metal stands.
For players looking to explore more advanced techniques, the F-10H damper pedal enables nuanced half-pedaling, with a realistic metal pedal and optical sensing for precise control.
The ES60 represents Kawai's commitment to making high-quality digital pianos more accessible. Designed with an emphasis on value and ease of use, this new model offers an inviting entry point for beginners and young musicians, allowing them to experience the renowned Kawai sound and touch.
With its competitive price and portability, the ES60 brings the Kawai experience to a wider audience, inviting more people to start their musical journey with confidence.
Authentic grand piano touch and tone, versatile sound options, a rich speaker system, and intuitive features – all within a sleek, ultra-portable design.
