Kawai was honored to provide its flagship Shigeru Kawai SK-EX full concert grand piano and SK-7 grand piano for the Festival Prečkanja – Sconfinamenti, in the European Capital of Culture 2025, Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and Gorizia (Italy), held from June 23 to July 6.
The Festival Prečkanja - Sconfinamenti is a cross-border collaboration between Glasbena matica based in FVG (Italy) and Imago Sloveniae Foundation (Slovenia).
Kawai supported the festival by providing pianos for both the concert events and master classes through Kawai’s official distributors in Italy, Bilbao Trading Partnership S. L. and its local dealer, PECAR, in conjunction with the closing concert appearance of pianist Alexander Gadjiev, whose musical activities Bilbao Trading Partnership S. L. has long endorsed.
On July 6, Alexander Gadjiev appeared on the festival’s closing concert at the Teatro Comunale Giuseppe Verdi, Gorizia. He is the project's initiator, and also its programme director.
The festival's programme is based on world-class classical music concerts with a focus on young "stars in the making" from all over the world, artist residencies and masterclasses led by first-class pedagogues.

About the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX full concert grand piano
Unveiled in 2001 as the flagship instrument of the Shigeru Kawai line, the SK-EX concert grand piano is hand-crafted in limited numbers following a unique ‘prototyping’ creation process. In order to achieve the supreme range of expression required in a concert piano, each instrument utilises a variety of carefully selected materials, with premium aged spruce soundboards. Shigeru Kawai instruments adopt the advanced Millennium III keyboard action, featuring extended wooden keys and advanced ABS Carbon action parts, providing superior speed and responsiveness than conventional wooden action parts, allowing pianists to express a greater range of feeling and emotion in their performance.
