Establishing a century-old brand, moving towards the next 100 years
Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was established in 1927 when our founder, Koichi Kawai, created a single instrument with a passionate dream to build the world’s finest pianos. Inheriting the founder’s spirit and philosophy of piano craftsmanship, and built upon the foundations laid by our great predecessors, artisans and technicians, the company has expanded beyond musical instrument manufacturing into fields such as education and material processing.
Kawai’s instruments and services are a part of people’s daily lives around the world, accompanying them through a wide range of emotions – joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. We strive to be a constant presence, supporting and enriching life through music. That is Kawai’s mission: to “Let your life resound.”
Kawai will celebrate its landmark 100th anniversary in 2027. Upon achieving the goal of joining the ranks of other prestigious century-old brands, we shall move towards the next hundred years, to become the piano of choice on the world stage, and the piano of choice for world-class artists. We aspire to become an irreplaceable partner company, sharing inspiration and smiles with people around the world, not only through our musical instruments, but in various other fields.
