MP11/MP7 Stage Piano software update v1.13 released

Kawai Japan has issued a software update for the MP11/MP7 Stage Pianos.

This recommended v1.13 update changes the default Concert Grand EFX type (MP11), and prevents the Modulation wheel from being scanned at startup, while also improving Stretch Tuning curves for some acoustic piano sounds.  In addition, on the MP7, the v1.13 update addresses issues related to SMF Playback, OneSetup loading, and Sys-Ex send commands, while also adding the ability to change SETUPs using the SW1/SW2 buttons, and improving the portamento slide behaviour when changing SETUPs.

The full v1.13 update changelogs are shown below:


MP11

–  Changed: The preset EFX assigned to the Concert Grand sound is changed to 7-BandEQ from 4-BandEQ, due to the  higher accuracy of the 7-BandEQ effect.
–  Changed: The Modulation Wheel is no longer scanned when the power is turned on.
–  Improved: Stretch tuning curves for a Standard Piano and Upright Piano sounds.
* Note: If user tuning is set for these sounds, please reset to "Stretch=Normal".

MP7

–  Added: SW1/SW2 Mode function to SYSTEM:Utility menu, allowing SETUP+/SETUP– to be triggered by SW buttons.
–  Changed: The Modulation Wheel is no longer scanned when the power is turned on.
–  Fixed: Some rare SMF files could not be played correctly.
–  Fixed: In some rare cases the SOUND compare mode would not exit correctly.
–  Fixed: The default number (e.g. 2-2-A) of a OneSetup file would not be recalled correctly when loading.
–  Fixed: Some Sys-EX parameter send messages for zones in EXT mode could not be sent correctly.   
–  Improved: Reduced note slide/movement delay when selecting a SETUP with Portamento enabled.
–  Improved: Stretch tuning curves for a number of PIANO sounds:
ConcertGrand2, StudioGrand2, MellowGrand2, JazzGrand2,
UprightPiano, MonoPiano, MonoPiano2
PianoVari., PianoVari.2, Piano&EP, Piano&EP2
NewAgePiano, NewAgePiano2, NewAgePiano3, NewAgePiano4   
* Note: If user tuning is set for these sounds, please reset to "Stretch=Normal".


MP11/MP7 owners are encouraged to update their instruments to use this latest software version.  We also recommend that users backup any custom settings, SOUNDs, SETUPs, etc. before applying the update.
